Firm Ranks Chicago's Most “Bro-Friendly” Neighborhoods

Formula considers the number of gyms, fitness centers, bars, casinos, liquor stores and adult entertainment establishments per capita

Being part of the "bro" subculture has been mistakenly equated to being a fraternity brother, but the label can apply to any gender, regardless of whether they went Greek in college.

Being classified as a "bro" is all about a person's interests and how one carries oneself. The modern bro likes to embody a lifestyle of debauchery for as long as he or she possibly can, embarking on binges filled with alcohol and other forms of vice before sweating it out the next day at the gym.

Places have been arbitrarily stereotyped as bro havens for too long. That's why data experts at FindTheHome aimed to cut through the false narratives and determine where the hotbeds of yo-pro hedonism actually are by creating a data-driven Bro Index.

The formula considers the number of gyms, fitness centers, bars, casinos, liquor stores and adult entertainment establishments per capita, as well as the proportion of people aged 20-34.

In Chicago, the Loop is the most bro-friendly, with a Bro Index score of 81.9. Goose Island has the second most bromance, with a score of 81.7.
