Brandon Marshall Holding Charity Auction For His Lime Green Cleats

Proceeds from the auction will go to the Brandon Marshall Foundation

Brandon Marshall’s decision to wear lime green cleats during the Chicago Bears’ game against the New York Giants may have drawn the ire of the NFL, but it seems to have served its purpose of drawing attention to Mental Health Awareness Week.

Several buildings in Chicago were shaded green in cityscape shots during the Thursday Night Football game, which the Bears won by a 27-21 margin, largely thanks to the two touchdowns that Marshall snared while wearing his special cleats.

Even with the Bears’ game already concluded, Marshall’s impact isn’t stopping there. He is auctioning off the shoes through his Brandon Marshall Foundation, which is dedicated to “raising awareness for mental illness and help(ing) others gain access to the resources that they need to recover,” according to their website. The auction will continue through the conclusion of this week’s Monday Night Football game, and people interested in bidding on the shoes can visit the website www.buybrandonsshoes.com.

As of right now, the bidding for the cleats stands at $2100, so be prepared to fork over some serious cash if you want to win the shoes.
