A Boystown bar will be closed for several days after receiving a citation in 2014 during the Chicago Pride Parade.
Roscoe’s Tavern, located at 3356 N. Halsted St., revealed Monday that it would be closed through Friday after receiving a citation more than a year ago for exceeding its allowed capacity during the parade. The city has since suspended their liquor license.
“The safety of our customers is, was and always will be our number one priority,” the bar posted on Facebook. “We have learned a lot from this experience and have implemented specific procedures to help prevent this from happening again.”
The announcement encouraged patrons to instead visit neighboring Boystown venues like Progress Bar and Sidetrack The Video Bar “to keep the party going.”
Roscoe’s plans to reopen Saturday for a celebration of the 20th anniversary of “the iconic movie ‘Clueless.’”
