A bouncer was critically wounded in a shooting outside a Wicker Park club early Wednesday, according to Chicago police.
Authorities said the shooting took place at around 3:44 a.m. outside the evilOlive nightclub, located in the 1500 block of West Division Street in Chicago.
The bouncer outside the establishment got into an altercation with someone, according to police, who said the person then took out a handgun and fired several shots at the bouncer.
The bouncer was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in critical condition, officials said.
A person of interest was taken into custody for questioning and a weapon was recovered from the incident, according to police.
Ashland Avenue near the intersection with Division Street was closed off, with buses rerouted as authorities remained on the scene. The investigation into the shooting was ongoing.
