Lincolnwood Boil Order Remains in Effect

A boil order will remain in effect at least through Friday after an electrical failure at a suburban water plant, authorities announced Thursday.

The boil order is currently in effect in the Village of Lincolnwood after a power failure occurred in the village’s Pump House control panel, officials said in a press release.

Residents are being told to boil their water for at least five minutes before using it.

The village worked with ComEd to identify the source of the problem and to rectify it, and the issue has been resolved.

Bacteria samples are still being tested, and if tests come back favorably on Friday, then the boil order will be lifted, according to the village.

If residents have questions about the boil order, they can call the Public Works Department at (847) 675-0888, or the police non-emergency line at (847) 673-2167 outside of normal business hours.
