Body Found Near Eisenhower Expressway

Illinois State Police were called to the area off the right shoulder of inbound I-290 near Wolf Road about 2:30 p.m.

A body was found on the side of the eastbound Eisenhower Expressway Monday afternoon.

About 2:30 p.m., Illinois State Police were called to an area off the right shoulder of inbound I-290 near Wolf Road. Upon arrival, police discovered a body in the grassy area off the side of the road.

Just before 5:30 p.m., officers could be seen still investigating the area.

The Cook County medical examiner's office identified the victim as 22-year-old Lashawn D. Williams of Plainfield, Illinois.

Illinois State Police District Chicago Safety Education Officer David Roman said they believe Williams was struck by a vehicle on the side of the expressway early Monday morning.

"At this time, we do not have any information regarding the vehicle(s) involved with this incident and have no other information available," Roman said. "The investigation is presently ongoing."
