Body Found Along Metra Tracks in West Suburbs

A freight train operator saw a body near the tracks between just before 7 p.m., according to Metra

A Metra train was delayed Saturday evening after a body was found along the tracks between west suburban Glen Ellyn and Wheaton.

A freight train operator saw a body on or near the tracks between the Glen Ellyn and College Avenue stations just before 7 p.m., according to Metra spokesman Tom Miller. Train 511 on the UP West line was delayed for over 30 minutes.

It was unclear if the person was struck by a freight train or a Metra train, Miller said. The circumstances of the death are under investigation.
