BMW Championship Temporarily Suspended for Severe Weather

Thunderstorms possible for parts of the Chicago area could turn severe in some spots as conditions become warmer and more humid.

The BMW Championship taking place at the Medinah Country Club in Chicago's northwest suburbs was temporarily suspended Saturday because of severe weather in the Chicago area.

Round-three play was suspended around 11:30 a.m. and is expected to resume at 12:45 p.m. when the severe weather threat passes.

While the area likely will see many dry hours to start the weekend, scattered showers and a few storms are possible. The best chance for storms was between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m.
