Blago's Lawyer: Two Stolen Computers Returned

Attorney thanks police, others still missing

An attorney for former Gov. Rod Blagojevich says Chicago police have returned two of the computers stolen from their offices.

Sam Adam Jr. said the two computers, identified by serial numbers, were among the eight that were stolen from their offices on South Ellis Avenue on Dec. 4 along with a safe.

"Without jeopardizing an ongoing investigation, we can say we are ecstatic about the performance of the Chicago Police Department," he told the Tribune.

The stolen computers, which Adam Jr. said did not contain sensitive information, had been used to process evidence from the Blagojevich corruption trial, most notably the secretly recorded tapes outlined in the federal complaint.

Last week was the one-year anniversary of Blagojevich's arrest on charges he triedto selling President Barack Obama's senate seat to the highest bidder. He has maintained his innocence and recently published a book, "The Governor," in which he says he will be vindicated at trial.
