Blago Gets Prison Visit From Patti, Daughters

Rod Blagojevich is more than 1,000 miles away from Chicago, but that didn't stop his family from visiting him in prison.

Patti Blagojevich wrote on Facebook Monday that she and her two daughters spent last weekend in Colorado. “He was so happy to see ... us and we were so happy to see him,” she wrote.

The former Illinois governor began serving a 14-year sentence in the Federal Correctional Institution Englewood, a low-security prison, on March 15. He was sentenced last year on corruption charges.

Patti Blagojevich on Facebook described the grim conditions of visiting her husband in prison.

"That visiting room has to be one of the saddest places on Earth though," she wrote. "All those little kids visiting their dads. It breaks your heart.”

Blagojevich reportedly has been spending his time at the prison working as a dishwasher, reading letters and books, and bonding with his bunkmates.
