Blagojeviches Attend Kelly Funeral

Gov. Rod Blagojevich attended the funeral for his former chief fundraiser and former confidant Christopher Kelly today.

Blago appeared at St. John of The Cross Catholic Church in Western Springs with his wife and one of his daughters, all dressed in black.

Blago didn't speak to reporters as he walked into the suburban Chicago church. Alderman Ed Burke also attended. Earlier, pall bearers had taken Kelly's casket from a hearse parked at the curb into the church.

Blagojevich was the last to leave the funeral, and shook hands with other mourners and police. As he was leaving in a white Cadillac, he waved.

Kelly died Saturday, less than a week after he was due to enter prison to begin serving a three-year sentence for tax fraud. He also faced more prison time after pleading guilty to an $8.5 million fraud against two airlines for roofing work on their hangars at O'Hare International Airport.
