Blackhawks to Host Sabres in October Home Opener

The full NHL schedule will be released on Sunday afternoon at 3 p.m. CT

The Chicago Blackhawks will open their home schedule on Oct. 11 in a battle against the Buffalo Sabres, the team announced in a press release on Saturday afternoon.

The game, which will begin at 7:30 p.m., will feature the Hawks going up against a team that has struggled in a big way in recent seasons. All Hawks home games (except for those being played on Sundays, or those that will be nationally televised) will begin at 7:30 p.m. this season, as opposed to the 7 p.m. starts that the team had in the 2013-14 campaign.

The Blackhawks also found out that they will open the 2014-15 NHL season on the road, facing off against the Dallas Stars in the Lone Star State on Oct. 9. The Hawks will also reportedly be facing the Washington Capitals in the 2015 Winter Classic in the nation's capital, meaning that three of their games have already been revealed.

The full NHL schedule will be released on Sunday afternoon at 3 p.m. Central Time. Ticket information is not yet available for the 41 home games on Chicago's schedule.
