Blackhawks Acquire Andreas Martinsen From Canadiens

The Chicago Blackhawks made a trade on Wednesday afternoon, acquiring forward Andreas Martinsen from the Montreal Canadiens.

Martinsen played in 64 games for the Canadiens last season, scoring three goals and registering four assists in those contests. He has played in 119 games total, with seven goals to his credit in those contests.

Martinsen will report to the Blackhawks’ AHL affiliate in Rockford, the team said.

In exchange, the Blackhawks sent forward Kyle Baun to the Canadiens. Baun, who had been sent to Rockford during training camp, has appeared in five NHL games in his career after being signed in 2016.

The Blackhawks will make their regular season debut on Thursday night when they take on the Pittsburgh Penguins at the United Center.
