A man died Tuesday night after he was found shot in west suburban Berwyn.
Jose Mendoza, 20, was found with gunshot wounds at a barber shop in the 2100 block of Oak Park Avenue in Berwyn, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office.
Mendoza, of the 2600 block of South East Avenue in Berwyn, was pronounced dead at Loyola University Medical Center at 10:07 p.m., according to the medical examiner’s office.
Friends who gathered outside the barber shop on Wednesday morning huddled in the cold with candles. Mendoza was the younger of two brothers and was dedicated to his family, friends said.
He'd been cutting hair since he was 14, they said.
