Man Charged in Vehicle Theft That Sparked Amber Alert

Adan Ozuna, 34, accused of taking woman's SUV that had her daughter inside

Bensenville police said Friday they have a man in custody in connection with a vehicle theft that sparked an Amber Alert a day earlier.

Adan Ozuna was charged with unlawful possession of stolen motor vehicle, unlawful possession of a converted motor vehicle, endangering the life of a child, and driving with a revoked license, police said after discussing the case with the DuPage County State's Attorney's Office.

Ozuna, 34, was arrested earlier in the day at an apartment complex in Mount Prospect, Bensenville police said in a statement.

He's accused of taking a woman's SUV early Thursday morning after she briefly stepped out of the vehicle at the Regents Park Apartments in Bensenville. The woman's daughter, 18-month-old Kimberly Delgado, was inside the black Buick.

Police issued an Amber Alert and later got a call of an abandoned Buick in a driveway on Argyle Street, about a mile away from the apartment complex.

The girl was found unharmed, still strapped in her car seat.
