Becca, Matt Hamilton Fall to 1-3 After Friday Losses

The Hamilton squad is now 1-3 after four round robin games

It was a rough night at the office for Becca and Matt Hamilton, as they dropped two round robin games against Switzerland and South Korea.

The defeats dropped the squad’s record to 1-3 in the Olympics with three games left to go in round robin play.

It appeared that the Hamilton siblings would be able to pick up a win against Switzerland in their opening game of the day, but it wasn’t meant to be as their final stone missed its intended mark. With an open lane on the ice, the Swiss team parked their final stone near the button, grabbing the points and the game to send the Americans to defeat.

The second game was going well enough for the Hamilton’s as they trailed by a 2-1 margin after two ends, but South Korea pulled away in a hurry, scoring five total points in the third and fourth ends and even managing to score a point on a U.S. power play in the fifth end to wrap up the easy victory.

Now, the Hamilton siblings will hope to clear their heads during the Opening Ceremonies on Friday night, and will come back to the rink on Saturday morning to take on a China squad with an identical 1-3 record. The American squad will also take on Norway, and will wrap up pool play with a game against Finland on Sunday morning.
