The Chicago Bears now have all of their 2016 NFL Draft picks under contract, as third round selection Jonathan Bullard has agreed to a four-year deal with the team.
Bullard, whom the Bears took with the 72nd overall pick in the draft, racked up 12 sacks and 178 tackles during his four seasons with the Florida Gators. Bullard will look to nail down a defensive end job with the Bears, and he was viewed as one of the steals of the draft by many scouting experts.
When training camp opens, Bullard will likely be competing for a starting job at end, going up against Ego Ferguson, Will Sutton, and Mitch Unrein for the position. New free agent signing Akiem Hicks will likely hold down the other job in Vic Fangio’s 3-4 defense.
With Bullard’s signing, every Bears draft pick is now under contract. Cody Whitehair, Nick Kwiatkoski, Deon Bush, Deoindre’ Hall, Jordan Howard, DeAndre Houston-Carson, and Daniel Braverman all signed in early May, with Leonard Floyd signing his deal later in the month.
