Chicago Bears cornerback Tim Jennings was arrested on multiple charges, including driving under the influence, in Georgia Wednesday, officials said.
Jennings was charged with speeding, reckless driving and driving under the influence of alcohol after a Wednesday incident, according to the Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office.
Officials said Jennings was stopped in a white 2015 Mercedes S63 AMG for speeding just before noon on Interstate 85 near Pleasant Hill Road. The officer who pulled him over said the vehicle was traveling at 99 mph in a 65 mph zone.
The officer noticed "a strong odor of alcoholic beverages" and began a DUI investigation, according to a release from the sheriff's office.
Jennings was released on a $2,711 bond.
The Bears issued the following statement on Wednesday afternoon:
"We are aware of the reports regarding Tim Jennings' arrest. We are currently gathering information to learn more about the circumstances surrounding the situation."

NFL sources told NBC 5's Peggy Kusinski that Jennings didn't fail a breathalyzer test because one was never administered. Jennings was scheduled to be at a parent-teacher conference at his child's school at the time of the incident.
Sources claim Jennings did not have anything to drink Wednesday and noted he has no previous history of alcohol or drug arrests.
The cornerback signed a four-year contract with the Bears last January, but had a rough season as the Bears' defense continued its deterioration under defensive coordinator Mel Tucker. In 2012 he led the league in interceptions with nine, but in 2014 he didn't have any picks and had just seven passes defended in 16 starts. His 37 tackles were his lowest total since the 2007 season, when he played with the Indianapolis Colts.
