A man in Florida was letting his dog outside this week when he says that a large bear attacked him.
Andrew Meunier told multiple news outlets that when he let his dog out on Tuesday night, he spotted a 4-foot bear standing next to him. The dog escaped unharmed, but Meunier was attacked by the animal, needing more than 40 stitches after the incident.
In an ironic twist, Meunier was wearing a Green Bay Packers shirt while he was being interviewed following the attack:
“I’m just happy to be alive,” he said. “It could’ve been a totally different story.”
According to WINK News in Florida, the attack is the first documented bear attack in the state of Florida since 1970.
