Authorities Locate Escaped Prisoner in Northwest Suburbs

Authorities recovered a prisoner who escaped from a suburban Cook County courthouse on Wednesday afternoon.

Jonathan Scott, 24, was inside the courthouse in Rolling Meadows when he ran out of the courtroom and escaped from the building around 2:35 p.m., officials said.

The Cook County Sheriff's office, the Rolling Meadows Police Department, the Arlington Heights Police Department, and the Palatine Police Department were all involved in search efforts in the surrounding area, according to police.

Scott was located near the courthouse around 5:15 p.m., authorities confirmed.

He was charged with possession of a controlled substance, according to the Cook County Sheriff's office.
