Author of Controversial Book on Obamas Speaks in Chicago

Jodi Kantor discussed her book at the Harold Washington Library Center

The author of the controversial book, "The Obamas,' spoke in Chicago Tuesday.

New York Times correspondent Jodi Kantor discussed and signed her book at beginning at 6 p.m. at the Harold Washington Library Center, 400 S. State St.

The appearance gave Kantor the opportunity to offer up more details from her book about the President and First Lady.

One of the more locally controversial tidbits to come out of the book is that First Lady Michelle Obama did not get along with Rahm Emanuel when he was White House chief of staff.

Emanuel, who left the position to pursue his run for mayor of Chicago, wrote off the book's allegations and said he's proud to call the Obamas friends.
