Austin Hudson-Lapore was last seen Wednesday

The family Austin Hudson-Lapore, a of a University of Chicago student who went missing Wednesday, has set up two websites to assist in the search for the missing 20-year-old.

The family is using the websites findaustinhudson.com and findaustinhudson.tumblr.com to gather tips and share information about the missing student.

The fourth-year biological chemistry student was last seen near the school’s Hyde Park campus on Wednesday afternoon, according to police and one of the websites.

"Please help us find this bio-chem senior (as soon as possible)," one of the websites states. "His family and friends are VERY worried about him."

Hudson-Lapore was last seen by his roommate, leaving his off campus apartment near 5300 block of South Kimbark about 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday. At the time he was wearing black gym shoes and blue jeans. He may frequent the lakefront area, police said in the missing person alert.

He took his keys, but left behind his wallet and his smart phone, which the website states was "very unusual."

Hudson-Lapore stand 5 feet, 7 inches tall and weighs 110 pounds. He has blue eyes and blonde hair, the missing person alert said.

According to his Facebook page, Hudson-Lapore is from Albuquerque, New Mexico.

The university expressed concern for the student’s wellbeing in a statement released Friday.

“The University is working closely with the Chicago Police Department and Austin’s family to assist in the search,” the school said in a statement. “Our hearts go out to Austin’s family members, friends and the College community during this anxious and difficult time.”
