Aurora Pizza Place Donates Food to First Responders, Plant Workers After Shooting

After Friday's shooting, Luigi's offered their restaurant as a staging area, and cooked food for first responders

In the aftermath of Friday's shooting at an Aurora business, a local restaurant opened its doors, and its heart, to first responders and employees of the Henry Pratt Company.

Luigi's Pizza and Fun Center, which is located near the industrial complex where five people were shot and killed on Friday afternoon, offered its facility up to first responders as a staging area while the investigation was ongoing, and didn't stop there:

The restaurant also served free pizzas to emergency workers and to employees of the plant.

On Saturday afternoon, the restaurant revealed that countless customers had reached out to offer their support to the cause, and said they would continue to donate money and resources to those affected by the tragedy.

"In times like this everyone wants to feel like they can help in some way," the restaurant said. "We are working to set something up so that we can accept your gracious contributions and distribute them to the people victimized in yesterday's shooting."

The city of Aurora has also launched a GoFundMe page to help the families of victims, and has already raised nearly $7,000 in funds.
