Asian American Coalition Chicago Lunar New Year Celebration

NBC 5 Chicago is proud to support the 33rd Annual Lunar New Year Festival. The festival takes place on Saturday, February 6th beginning at 5 p.m. in the Hyatt Regency Chicago.

The festival will mark the beginning of the Year of the Monkey with the theme, “Envision, Enlighten, Empower.” In the past, over 1,000 guests of Asian-American community leader, elected officials and corporate sponsors have been in attendance. The event includes a reception, dinner and program. This year, the Chinese American Community will be hosting.

This event is presented by the Asian American Coalition of Chicago (AACC.) The AACC was founded in 1983 and represents over 16 Asian cultures. The mission of the AACC is to organize and promote equal opportunities in all aspects of life to empower Asian Americans.
