Armed Robberies Reported in Washington Park

Police are warning about two recent armed robberies in the South Side Washington Park neighborhood.

In each case, a suspect approached people, pulled out a nickel or chrome handgun and robbed them, Area Central detectives said in a community alert.

Both robberies happened this month in the 6100 blocks of South Michigan and South Indiana avenues, police said.

The suspect is described as a black man between 16 and 20 years old, between 5-foot-8 and 6-foot-1 and 145 to 170 pounds, police said.
