Armed Robberies Reported in the South Loop: Police

At least four people have been robbed recently in a small stretch of the South Loop, according to Chicago police.

In each incident, two or three males with a handgun approach someone on the street and demand their property, police said. If the victim hesitates, the males punch them or hit them with the gun before taking their things.

The robberies all happened in the evening and early morning hours between Aug. 17 and Sept. 11, police said. They happened in the 1000 block of South Wabash Avenue, the first block of East 11th Street and twice in the 800 block of South Wabash Avenue.

The robbers flee on foot following the robberies and have been seen getting into an unknown vehicle.

Anyone with information about the robberies is asked to call Area Central detectives at 312-747-8384.
