Chicago Cubs first baseman Anthony Rizzo is preparing to walk down the aisle, and he’s tapping the daughter of a former teammate for a very important job.

That former teammate, St. Louis Cardinals outfielder Dexter Fowler, is still very tight with his former Cubs teammates, and that was on display as his daughter Naya will be the flower girl in Rizzo’s upcoming wedding.

Rizzo sent Naya a beautiful note asking her to be part of his special day, and of course she agreed to the responsibility:

    YES !!!! @vakosem & @arizz_44 !!!!

Back in 2016, Naya told her mom that she wanted to watch a Cubs game, but instead of watching her dad patrol the outfield, she wanted to see Rizzo:

All I want, is to speak to Mr Rizzo @arizz_44

Rizzo revealed his engagement last year, but no wedding date has been publicly set for the couple.

Cubs players have remained close to Fowler after he signed a free agent deal with the Cardinals after the 2016 World Series.
