A joy that's shared is a joy made double in suburban Chicago.
The Salvation Army received $20,000 from a single anonymous donor in four separate checks of $5,000 at two Naperville locations.
The same donor has promised to match all donations up to $5,000 deposited at the Casey's Foods in Naperville through Christmas Eve. This is the same grocery store that received a gold coin valued at $1,700 last month.
"These donations will bring the gift of Christmas joy to so many people in need in our community," said Captain Antonio Romero, Corps Officer at the local Salvation Army Center. "We're truly blessed that our community is so generous and giving."
The Salvation Army hopes to raise $12.5 million through the Red Kettle campaign which runs through Jan. 31.
