Animal Shelters Feeling Pinch In Economic Crunch

Local shelter 'bursting at the seams' with unwanted pets

The economy is making things hard for almost everybody.  The trickle down is being felt especially keenly by organizations that shelter and care for pets, many of whom are being abandoned by families struggling to make ends meet.

Across the nation, animal rescue and shelter populations are up; adoptions are down. And the financial support these nonprofits rely on is generally heading south as well.
