An Amtrak train from Chicago to St. Louis was being towed back to the city after it hit a semi-truck in suburban Joliet Friday.
Lincoln Service Train no. 303 clipped the rear trailer of a semi trailer truck around 10:30 a.m. on Laraway Road, according to Amtrak spokesperson Renee Graham.
The train was carrying 1,440 passengers, none of whom were injured in the crash, Graham said. The driver of the semi was also not injured.
