3 Hospitalized After Chemical Leak at Suburban Plant

A total of six people have been treated after the leak

A chemical leak at a suburban business has sent at least three people to area hospitals, according to police.

The leak occurred at Nation Pizza, located in the 600 block of East Algonquin Road in suburban Schaumburg. According to police, six people were treated after the leak, with three being transported to local hospitals.

The air quality around the plant has been checked and has been determined to be safe, police said.

After the leak, two people were taken to area hospitals with non-life threatening injuries, and another person was taken to a hospital with a non-health related issue.

Three other individuals were treated at the scene, police said.

A bad valve was responsible for the leak, and the situation was contained by plant employees, according to Schaumburg police.
