“America's Most Wanted” Features Chicago

Episode will highlight city's surveillance camera system

"America's Most Wanted," the longest-running program on the Fox Television Network, will feature an episode titled "Windy City Fights Back."

Just a couple weeks ago, Chicago was named the most surveilled city in the world with the most extensive and integrated surveillance camera network.  From buses to schools to light poles to private facilities, some experts estimate the number of cameras at more than 10,000.

Now, "America's Most Wanted" crime fighting host, John Walsh, shows just how the city uses all that video information to find suspects.

Walsh will "see how the city and its citizens are battling an epidemic of violence by fighting back," according to a press release.

He will also meet with a group called "Purpose Over Pain," an organization formed in 2007 by parents of young gun-violence victims.

"America's Most Wanted" has reportedly helped police capture over 1,000 fugitives.  Walsh wants viewers to "help find justice" for the members of "Purpose Over Pain."

The Chicago episode is set to air on Saturday, May 15 on Fox.

Matt Bartosik is a Chicago native and a social media sovereign.
