Four juveniles in suburban Plainfield could face misdemeanor battery charges after an alleged "hazing incident" last week at Plainfield Central High School, Plainfield Police said Monday.
The Plainfield Community Consolidated School District 202 informed police of the incident that occurred last Thursday afternoon, police said.
While police said the incident "does not meet the statutory definition of hazing" because it wasn't part of an induction process and no bodily harm occurred, they are investigating the incident with the school district and the Will County state's attorney.
"All the victims and suspects in this incident are juveniles," police said in a statement. Misdemeanor battery charges are pending against four of them.
No further details about the incident were released.
