The city issued a swim ban Sunday for all Chicago beaches because of water quality.

Sunday’s swim ban was issued because the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District opened the locks at the Wilmette and Chicago River to release water from the weekend’s heavy storms, according to the web site. The swim ban was issued as a precaution.

The park district does have 76 pools throughout the city that will be open for swimming, according to its Web site.

Temperatures are expected to reach 82 degrees Sunday, with no rain in the forecast, according to the National Weather Service.
