Chicago-area grocery shoppers can now get their Aldi groceries delivered through Instacart, an online grocery delivery service, the companies announced Monday.

The Chicago service area stretches from northwest Indiana, through the suburbs to Rockford. First-time Instacart customers can use the code LOVEALDI through May 31 to get $20 off and free delivery on their first order.

Delivery time can be as little as an hour, the companies said in a statement.

“We are committed to saving people time and money, no matter how they shop for groceries,” Jason Hart, CEO of Aldi U.S., wrote. “The response to our Instacart pilot in Atlanta, Dallas and Los Angeles was overwhelmingly positive, and with nearly 200 Chicago-area stores, it only makes sense to bring online delivery to this major market.”

The expansion comes after Aldi and Kohl’s announced earlier this month that the grocery chain would start leasing space in Kohl’s locations.

The grocer is the latest of several grocery chains to start home delivery service. Amazon started delivering Whole Foods orders in February, while Costco partnered last year with Target-owned company Shipt.
