After Two Losses, Bears Have Best Chance at Top Draft Pick

The Chicago Bears are 0-2 for the first time since 2003, and things are looking rather bleak as they prepare to face the Seattle Seahawks next week, but there is some good news for fans worried about the team’s future.

That’s because the Bears have the best chance of obtaining the number one overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft, according to ESPN’s Football Power Index. According to the Index, the Bears have a 22 percent chance of getting the number one pick, beating out the Oakland Raiders (15 percent) and Tampa Bay Buccaneers (13 percent) in the rankings.

The Buccaneers had the number one overall pick in 2015, taking Jameis Winston with the selection. The Raiders had the number four pick, taking wide receiver Amari Cooper.

The Bears haven’t had the number one overall pick in the draft since 1947, when they took Bob Fenimore with the selection. They’ve only had it one other time, selecting Tom Harmon in the 1941 selection show.
