Wrong-Way Driver Identified as Lynwood Clerk

No charges have been filed in the crash

The municipal employee who crashed head-on into two other cars while driving the wrong way on Route 394 last week has been identified as the clerk of suburban Lynwood, the Chicago Tribune reports.

Police said Roel Valle, 64, allegedly was driving a village vehicle north in the southbound lanes around 1:30 a.m. Friday when he slammed into the two vehicles.

Melikah Little, 32, of Marquette Park was killed in the crash.

Police confirmed last week that alcohol is suspected to be involved in the incident.

Valle has not been charged and remains in the hospital in Oak Lawn in fair condition, the Tribune reports.

Little and her friend were inside one vehicle, and Little's husband and another friend were in the other. The Littles have four daughters, ages 4, 7, 9 and 16, according to the Tribune.
