Police Checking For More Victims In Craigslist Assault Case

Woodstock man accused of sexually assaulting five women he met on Craigslist

Illinois police are investigating whether more women were victims of sexual assault by a man they met through Craigslist.

Charles Oliver, 44, of west suburban Woodstock is accused of raping six women, five of whom he met through the website.

Oliver was first arrested Jan. 28 when two women accused him of sexually assaulting them at his home on West Greenwood Avenue. Three more women made the same claim the following month.

He is accused of assaulting the women in his home after meeting them online.

"He paid girls so he could get whatever he wanted to," said McHenry County Assistant State's Attorney Sharyl Eisenstein.

Authorities said they found videos of Oliver's sexual escapades, as well as handguns and rifles, in his home when they executed a search warrant. Illinois' crime lab technicians are testing other items to find out if more women were assaulted.

Sgt. Charles Amati told the Chicago Tribune the items being tested don't belong to the believed five victims, leading police to think more women were attacked.

Oliver is being held on $3 million bond.
