Woman Sentenced In Crash That Killed Boy on Bike

Hanin Goma to spend five years in prison

A Skokie woman received a 5-year prison sentence in connection with a crash that killed a 9-year-old boy in May, according to the Chicago Tribune.

Hanin Goma, 23, pleaded guilty to a felony charge of aggravated driving under the influence resulting in death and a misdemeanor count of driving under the influence of drugs.

Goma collided with another vehicle, spun out and hit and killed Carter Vo who was riding his bike on the sidewalk.

Toxicology tests showed that Goman had cannabis and amphetamines in her system at the time of the crash.

Goma has previous drug charges on her record and was out on bond for leaving the scene of another crash when the fatal accident occurred, according to the newspaper.
