Woman Found Dead in West Side Home

Autopsy found that she suffered multiple stab wounds

A woman who was found dead in her West Side Lawndale neighborhood home Friday night was stabbed multiple times and her death has been ruled a homicide, an autopsy has determined.

Lennie Brownlee, 59, was found dead about 10:30 p.m. in her home in the 4200 block of West Cermak Road, according to police and the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office.

Her landlord’s grandson found her on her bedroom floor after he noticed the door to her apartment was open and went in to check on her, a source said.

She was found with a traumatic injury to her neck, according to the medical examiner’s office. An autopsy Saturday found that she suffered multiple stab and incise wounds and her death was ruled a homicide, according to a medical examiner’s office spokesman.

Area Central detectives are investigating.
