Woman Accused of Stalking Rev. Pfleger Held Without Bond

Kuzniar chose to represent herself Tuesday in court, saying "God is my attorney"

A Deerfield woman was held without bond Tuesday on charges she stalked Chicago Rev. Michael Pfleger.

Lidia Kuzniar, 55, of the 1100 block of Montgomery Drive is accused of six separate incidents of stalking, including three runs down the aisle toward the alter at St. Sabina Church when she was stopped by security.

Kuzniar chose to represent herself Tuesday in court, saying "God is my attorney."

She told prosecutors she has been talking to God for 10 years and that God tells her the church must be changed and that priests should be allowed to marry.

Kuzniar said she left her old church and saw Pfleger on TV then fell in love with him. She said she needed to tell Pfleger what God had told her.

Pfleger obtained an order of protection on Nov. 9. Kuzniar said she doesn't care about man's law and only listens to God's law.

She is being held without bond pending a psychiatric evaluation.
