Could NBC5’s Anthony Ponce be the next member in the group One Direction?

Following news of the departure of bandmate Zayn Malik, there have been many questions surrounding who could replace the famed singer in the popular group.

Apparently, the Second City Network seems to think Anthony Ponce fits the bill, nominating him in a recent RedEye piece as one of few possible contenders with Chicago ties capable of taking the stage with the now foursome.

When he’s not talking into a microphone detailing the news on NBC Chicago, Ponce often spends his time playing the piano and singing (see for yourself).

He’s practically a part of a mini-boy band with his older brother Dan Ponce, the WGN reporter who can turn pretty much any story into a musical (watch him here). Dan Ponce was also among the nominees for potential Malik replacements from Chicago.

Who do you think would be the best Malik replacement? Vote below.
