Wheeling Native Makes ‘Idol' Top 4

Haley Reinhart is another step closer to the "Idol" title

Could another Chicago-area local win "American Idol"?

Wheeling native Haley Reinhart is one step closer to following in the footsteps of Mount Prospect's Lee DeWyze after fans voted her into the reality show's Top 4.

"Idol" judges made it clear Reinhart took a risk this week by singing the unreleased Lady Gaga song, "You and I" -- apparently chosen by a show coach with approval from Gaga. Reinhart won back the judges, though, with her rendition of “House of the Rising Sun.”

"It was sweet and sour, raspy. I could relate to that," Steven Tyler said.

And it looks like Gaga, herself, will help smooth things over for Reinhart. She reportedly will be the show's latest superstar guest mentor next week, according to MTV.com.

California singer Jacob Lusk was sent home on Thursday. Reinhart joins other Final 4 contestants James Durbin, Scotty McCreery and Lauren Alaina.

In case you're feeling the "Idol" itch to sing, host Ryan Seacrest says Season 11 auditions will begin Tuesday, June 28, in St. Louis, Mo., then Portland, Ore. and Charleston, S.C. No word yet on a Chicago-area stop.
