Van Hits Michigan Ave. Storefront

A van ran into MaxMara storefront Friday morning after his brakes went out.

MaxMara manikins may have a lost a limb, but no real limbs were lost when a van ran into the Michigan Ave. storefront this morning.

The accident occurred around 9 a.m. this morning at 900 N. Michigan Ave. with only one ambulance called to the scene, according to the Chicago Fire Department. No injuries were reported.

According to witness and 900 N. Michigan Ave. publicist Ryan Beshel, the driver was headed east on Delaware Place when his brakes failed.

"We are very thankful no one was hurt and the driver was able to think quickly," said Beshel.

Beshel said they are still analyzing the extent of damages to the store, but that the storefront window was shattered and some structural damage did occur, the total costs will likely be "more than MaxMara's deductible."
