Several Students Hospitalized After Ingesting ‘Unknown Substance' at Chicago School: CPS

Several students were hospitalized after they were seen "ingesting an unknown substance" at a Chicago school Friday.

Chicago Public Schools said in a statement officials at South Shore Fine Arts, located at 1415 E. 70th St. on Chicago's South Side, saw the students eating the substance and called 911.

"Emergency services providers responded to evaluate the situation," CPS spokesman Michael Passman said in a statement.

Several students were taken to an area hospital "as a precautionary measure," school officials said.

An investigation into what happened remains ongoing, according to CPS.
