Union Pacific North Line Train Strikes Pedestrian in Winnetka

A pedestrian was hit by a Metra train Thursday evening in north suburban Winnetka.

Union Pacific North line train no. 351 had left Chicago at 5:43 p.m. and had just passed the Indian Hill station at 6:15 p.m. when it struck the pedestrian, Metra spokesman Michael Gillis said.

Information on the person’s condition was not immediately available.

Trains on the line are stopped in both directions, Gillis said. The train involved in the incident was scheduled to arrive in Waukegan at 7:01 p.m.

Metra officials told NBC Chicago the pedistrian was not injured and their bicycle was struck by the train.
