Two University of Illinois at Chicago students were robbed at gunpoint Monday night near the West Side campus.

The students were walking in the 800 block of South Laflin about 11 p.m. when they were approached by three men, one of whom pulled a silver handgun and demanded the students’ property, according to an alert from UIC Police. The other two men searched the students and stole their belongings.

The man with the gun then ordered the students to lie on the ground and count to 30, and the three robbers ran south on Laflin, the alert said.
