2 Teens Injured in Shooting in Back of the Yards Neighborhood on Chicago's Southwest Side

The shooting occurred before 3:40 p.m. Friday at 52nd Street and Ashland

A 16-year-old boy was listed in critical condition after he and an 18-year-old woman were injured in a shooting Friday afternoon in the Back of the Yards neighborhood on Chicago's South Side.

The shooting happened about 3:40 p.m in the 5200 block of South Ashland Avenue, police said. Police were seeking three possible suspects who left the scene. 

The boy was shot in the head and listed in critical condition at the University of Chicago Medical Center, police said. The 18-year-old woman sustained a gunshot wound to the leg, and was reported to be in stable condition. Both victims are students at Richards High School. 

Chicago police spokesman Anthony Guglielmi said on Twitter that detectives were collecting video from cameras in the area.
