Trump Tower Resident Charged With Identity Theft

Police said they found eight fraudulent credit cards in Dimitar Vangelov's home

A resident of Trump Tower was charged Monday with identity theft after police said several bogus credit cards were found in his home.

Dimitar Vangelov, 27, of the 400 block of North Wabash Avenue, is expected in court Tuesday after police found eight fraudulent credit or debit cards, according to the Chicago Tribune.

The paper reports police said the cards were re-encoded with another person’s card information, though Vangelov's name was embossed on each card.

When police questioned him, Vangelov said he is an auto exporter. The case is under investigation in part by the Secret Service.
