Trevor Cahill Sports Dodgers Socks in Cubs' Game 3 Win

Chicago Cubs pitcher Trevor Cahill made an interesting wardrobe choice when he came in to pitch for the Cubs in their 8-6 win over the St. Louis Cardinals on Monday evening.

After stopping to tie his shoe while on the mound, fans caught a glimpse of what appeared to be another team's logo on his socks.

Don’t adjust your computer or cellphone screen. Cahill was wearing a pair of Los Angeles Dodgers socks when he took the mound. The question, then is why?

Jesse Rogers of ESPN Chicago got down to the bottom of things after the game:

While Cahill’s Cubs did win last night, the Dodgers did not, falling 13-7 to the New York Mets in Game 3 of the NLDS.

For the record, Cahill has never pitched in a regular season game for the Dodgers, but he was in the team’s minor league system earlier this year before joining the Cubs.
